Currently, the area serves as a military base called Matzav 24, which constitutes the main experimentation base for the military system. In 2022, an agreement regarding the evacuation of the area was signed between the municipality of Rishon LeTsiyon and the IDF. This marked the first time in municipal history that a city funded the relocation of a military base. According to media reports, the military system committed to vacate at least 1,300 dunams, while the military retains around 9,500 dunams in the area.
